Cafe Cabaret is an annual musical showcase hosted by the Enloe choral department, of singers from a multitude of backgrounds, experience levels and musical inclinations from across Enloe. This year's performance, the first hosted by Chorus teacher Ms. Hallihan, has exceeded expectations, and the performers left the audience dazzled in their wake. The theme of the show this year was Movies and TV shows, so the singers performed songs from their favorites, from the soundtrack of the Hunger Games to Pitch Perfect. The acts were able to use a variety of instruments to enhance their performance, and gave singers the autonomy in song choice for their audition. Ms. Hallihan helped the acts fine tune their pieces, gave them performance tips and organized the evening into a stunning success.

The show began with a performance by beginning chorus, and then transitioned into the audition based acts. Molly James, Enloe senior, performed Moonsong from the film Her. James played four different instruments while singing, impressing the audience with her rapid transitions from one instrument to the next, precision in playing, and her variety in musical skills. They timed their singing just right with the cup movements, all performers in sync, delivering an amazing performances to the hit song. Ansley Brown and Ameya Rao, both Juniors and Chamber Choir members sang City of Stars from the movie Lalaland. Accompanied with the piano, the girls voices filled the auditorium with the meaningful lyrics from the film.

Enloe senior Andrew Currin performed The Rainbow Connection with an astounding twist. Currin walked on stage, Kermit puppet in his hand, and he sang the entire song in an impressively accurate impression of the star Muppet. The audience was wowed by his unexpected performance, and will surely be remembered in years to come. Solist Cat Carter sang Make you feel my love by Adele, and Sindhura Kondaveeti, Anushna Saha, Esa Srinivasan, and Kalina Walaski sang The Hanging Tree from the Hunger Games, originally sung by Jennifer Lawrence

After all the acts had their moment in the limelight, all singers gathered on stage and performed Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. The 2019 film reflecting on the life of Freddie Mercury became an instant sensation, and the singers executed this intricate piece from the soundtrack beautifully. The showcase was nothing short of a success, and provided awareness of the choral department and vocal skills of Enloe students, while opening the door to others to get involved.
